CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Switchcraft® is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We currently have an opening for an experienced Customer Service representative at our Chicago office.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing service and support to distributors, OEM customers and outside sales force. The position involves heavy phone and e-mail contact with customers. This individual interfaces with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and accounting in order to provide the highest level of service. Responsibilities of the position include quoting, order processing, expediting and some technical support. Technical/electronic background a plus



Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years customer service experience in manufacturing environment

The ability to handle multiple incoming calls and e-mails

The ability to multi-task and prioritize their work and time

Excellent Communication Skills both verbal and written

Excellent computer skills, Windows and Internet

MOLD MAKER

We are currently seeking a Mold Maker who will work with various journeymen building and repairing injection molds. This person must have knowledge of tool room equipment: saws, drill press, vertical mill, lathe, surface grinder, EDM equipment, CNC equipment, CNC programming, and oversee tool crib.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Constructs piece parts or entire assemblies from sketches, verbal or blueprints
• Operates various hand and/or machine shop tools with high degree of precision to models and parts
• Works closely with designers or planning engineers, understands the design approach
• Adapts or develops designs intent into practical procedures
• Build die section and proto molds as required
• Document all tools
• All other duties as requested by supervisor

Essential Requirements:
• Vision acuity required
• 5 years of experience
• Must be able to follow simple instructions
• Attention to detail
• Basic math skills
• Blueprint reading (Required)
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Machine Shop experience (Required)

Maintenance Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the building and machine maintenance at our 190,000 square foot Chicago location. The 24/7 facility houses stamping, molding, machining, and assembly operations. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for safety/security, building maintenance, HVAC, janitorial, and machine maintenance while supervising a department of six maintenance employees.
Responsibilities
• Maintain the physical plant to comply with all local and national safety and fire codes.
• Monitor, maintain and test fire sprinkler systems throughout the plant.
• Select, purchase, install and maintain infrastructure to support 24/7 production operations, including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, city water, gas and electric utilities
• Interact with local emergency management organizations to plan and execute safety drills, arrange safe storage areas, and otherwise comply with building requirements.
• Participate in teams to reduce energy usage and water consumption.
• Submit purchase requisitions for all materials needed to maintain uptime goals in production.
• Supervise a team of maintenance mechanics to support production goals.
• Participate in teams to rearrange and activate new work cell layouts in the factory.
• Oversee the security system for employees, vehicles, parking areas, and building.
• Arrange and oversee external maintenance services, such as landscaping, snow removal, roofing, painting, brickwork, electrical, etc.
Requirements
1. High school graduation or GED or equivalent required
2. Ability to read and interpret building drawings is required
3. 5 years minimum of equipment maintenance experience in a factory setting required
4. Experience as a maintenance manager or facilities manager preferred
5. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
6. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
7. English language skills required
8. Knowledge of HVAC, boiler maintenance, and fire suppression systems preferred
9. Knowledge of programming various PLC’s through HMI’s is preferred
10. Previous experience in electrical work preferred

Tool & Die Maker

Job Overview:
A Tool & Die Maker completes a variety of task which may include the building or repairing of simple or progressive dies, fixtures, gages, assembly machines, and tools. Uses knowledge of Tool & Die making to follow verbal instructions, part specifications, tool designs and related requirements. May be requires to “troubleshoot” and understand piece part prints, die designs and related materials and specifications. Has knowledge in the use of toolroom equipment, which includes surface grinders, milling machines, jig borers, optical comparators, and hand tools. Inspects and verifies piece part specifications, tooling specifications, and related dimensional checks, using micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators and surface plates, optical compactors, microscopes, and other related equipment. May be required to work under minimal supervision.

• Has knowledge of all toolroom equipment
• Will be required to troubleshoot when needed

Requirements:

• Must be able to read die prints
• Must be able follow instructions given by team leader or supervisor

Customer Service Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Customer Service Manager to manage the customer service function in both our Chicago and Villa Park manufacturing facilities. The position interfaces with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and accounting team members in order to provide the highest level of service to our customers. We are looking for a strategic planner with excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities:
Manages customer service team training and evaluates their workload and performance in meeting customer’s needs and company goals.
Provides support to the sales team and to management
Manages order processing and maintains orders in the ERP system (NAV)
Oversees custom quoting and website inquiries
Handles escalated customer service issues
Maintains procedure manual for processes in our ERP system and looks for ways to improve and streamline processes
Acts as trade compliance export administrator
Requirements:
3-5 years’ experience as a customer service manager
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have experience with ERP/MRP
EDI experience would be a plus
NAV experience would be a plus
Heavy use of computer
Requires travel between Chicago and Villa Park facility

In-Process Inspector

Responsibilities:

Performs in-process inspection of products throughout the manufacturing departments.

Visually and dimensionally inspects product using measurement instruments, blue print
drawings and/or product specifications at machine set ups, throughout production and
final inspections.

Works closely with quality, molding, assembly, machining, engineering, tooling and
purchasing departments to meet quality control objectives

Requirements:

Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or technical degree/background.

Must be able to interpret blue print drawings, use measurement instruments such as
micrometers, calipers, pin gages and optical comparators.

The position requires the candidate to have good vision. Tasks involve frequent walking,
bending, lifting and standing throughout the work day.
