When inserted into a standard size telephone jack, the dummy plug actuates springs like a normal plug, except no signal is conducted through since the plug is made of non-conducting plastic. Dummy plugs can also be used to plug-up unused jacks to prevent accidental insertion of an incorrect plug.
SERIES 492: 3-conductor with .25 inch diameter finger. Mates with 3-conductor MT-Jax® and Series M Hi-D Jax®, and other standard telephone jacks have .25 inch inside diameter sleeves.
SERIES 493: 2-conductor with .25 inch diameter finger. Mates with 2-conductor MT-Jax®, Series M Hi-D Jax®, and other standard telephone jacks having .25 inch inside diameter sleeves.
