Description:

Conxall, located in Villa Park, Illinois, is a manufacturer of custom designed connectors and cable assemblies. We supply highly engineered harsh environment cable assembly products to the industrial, agricultural, lighting, safety, outdoor recreation, and medical industries. Conxall is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team.

The Quality Engineer will coordinate and follow-up on customer complaints, corrective and preventative actions, product returns and vendor rejects.  Perform and prepare dimensional layouts, first articles and product testing. Provide support and assistance to receiving, in-process and final inspectors, manufacturing and support teams on product and process quality related issues.  Create and maintain quality system procedures, work instructions and forms using MS Excel, Word software.  Perform and prepare dimensional layouts, first articles and product testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, follow-up and respond to customer complaints.

  • Review, analyze, and coordinate resolution and disposition of customer returns, vendor rejects and internal defective materials / reports.

  • Create and maintain quality system reports, quality standards including forms, work instructions and procedures.

  • Perform dimensional layouts using drawings and or technical specifications, measuring and electrical testing instruments.

  • Develop and create APQP documents such as PPAP’s, 1st article layouts and product tests. Participate in the review and QA sign off on engineering changes and product introductions.

  • Assist with gage metrology/calibrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Associates degree in technical field of study, engineering degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5yrs. experience in a quality or related fields.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality System Standards

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings and technical documents.

  • Must be able to use measuring instruments and tools such as micrometers, calipers, pin gages, optical comparator, electrical testers and force gages.

  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, molding, soldering and manual assemblies

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to perform basic math computations and conduct statistical studies.

  • Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work and complete assignments on schedule.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and work proactively with a variety of customers, suppliers and internal staff at all levels of the organization.
